SERVICE DESIGN and curation

Will help you see the intersection of communication/technology and human behavior

I gravitate toward vision projects that begin with challenging questions, seek to understand nuanced human behavior, and result in actionable designs. My clients are foundations, established organizations, and nonprofits.

My recent focus has been service and technology platform development and organizational service design.

Design research deliverables include research findings, service blueprints, experience mapping, and process books including content generated collaboratively with product users, staff, and beneficiaries.

Organizational service design results in custom tools staff and management can use to align, communicate and collaborate more effectively.

Some favorite clients and partners:

Code For America, Women In Product, Women, and Girls Lead @ ITVS, The Gates Foundation / Artefact, Nordstrom Innovation, Intel labs, Cisco, and The Institute For Money Technology and Financial Inclusion.

I work independently or build teams with unique skills in service design, and qualitative research leading to actionable design direction.

I have extensive experience as a designer and researcher, with a focus on concept and business development. While my areas of expertise are domain agnostic I have had extensive experience in workflow optimization, healthcare, and connection platforms with access to resources, and services supporting vulnerable and marginalized populations.

As a designer, I prefer a deep-dive approach using multiple design research methods including fieldwork, extensive secondary research, and expert interviews to quickly understand a domain landscape and opportunity areas.

I emphasize visual storytelling to present my findings, with the goal of capturing the essence of implications within current states to inspire practical, executable, transformational designs.
